Functional Neuroanatomy (Cambridge Advance Online)

Rhea Jose Wartika

Functional Neuroanatomy is a University of Cambridge short course that enables learners to: • describe different regions of the brain, differentiate their function and evaluate their potential clinical relevance • compare and differentiate different methods of live macroscopic imaging of human brain structure and vasculature • identify, map and label key functional structures and pathways in the brain • recognise, analyse and interpret microscopic brain structure • identify sites of injury based on clinical signs and symptoms, brain images and patient history.

Skills / Knowledge

  • Relating structure to function
  • relating structure and function to clinical situations
  • relating two-dimensional images to three-dimensional organisation
  • general principles of neuronal processing
  • a basis for patient diagnosis
  • experimental and analytical skills for studying brain histology
  • working as a group with other learners
